  • This record contains data generated from samples collected annually in Gladstone Harbour, from 2012-2014. These samples were taken as part of the GISERA marine environmental research program. The data can be used for Ocean Colour sensor validation. Parameters measured are the concentration of chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments. Between 9 and 42 stations were sampled each year.

  • This record contains data generated from samples collected on the fishing vessel Odalisque in Storm Bay, Tasmania, between November 9 2009 and 18 July 2011. The data were collected as part of the FRDC project 2009/067. The data can be used for Ocean Colour sensor validation. Parameters measured are the concentration of chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments, total suspended solids, and absorption coefficients.

  • This record contains data generated from samples collected on the CMAR vessel Explorer in Storm Bay, Tasmania, between 11 and 16 March 2011. The data can be used for Ocean Colour sensor validation. Parameters measured are the concentration of chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments.

  • This record contains data collected on the charter vessel Rum Rambler between 04 and 12 September 2003. The data can be used for Ocean Colour sensor validation. Parameters measured are the concentration of chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments and retrieved chlorophyll a estimate, the absorption coefficient for dissolved (aCDOM) particulate (a/p) and detrital or non-algal (a/d) components of the water column. 26 stations were sampled. The data was used primarily to validate ocean colour sensors MERIS, MODIS and SeaWIFs and the SST sensor AATSR. Samples were collected and analysed for pigments, total suspended solids (TSS) and dissolved and particulate absorption coefficients. CLW deployed instruments RAMSES, ac-9, Hydroscat and Hydrorad.

  • This record contains data collected on the charter vessel Kenomie Spirit between the 6th and 9th February 2008 in the Fitzroy River Estuary. The data can be used for Ocean Colour sensor validation. Parameters measured are the concentration of chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments and the absorption coefficient for dissolved (aCDOM) particulate (ap) and detrital or non-algal (ad) components of the water column. 13 stations were sampled. The data was used primarily to validate ocean colour sensors MERIS, MODIS and SeaWIFs. Samples CLW deployed instruments RAMSES, ac-9, and Hydroscat.

  • This record contains data generated from 19 stations in the Torres Strait between September 2, 2016 and September 6, 2016 using the vessel, Eclipse D. CSIRO acquired bio-optical measurements in the Torres Strait and Great Barrier Reef, as part of the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) Earth Venture Suborbital mission: Coral Reef Airborne Laboratory (CORAL, http://coral.jpl.nasa.gov). The goal of this airborne hyperspectral remote sensing project is to provide critical data and new models needed to analyse the status of coral reefs and to predict their future status. The CORAL mission includes PRISM (Portable Remote Imaging Spectrometer) airborne hyperspectral transects over portions of the southern and northern Great Barrier Reef (GBR), including the Torres Strait. Parameters measured include Total Suspended Particulate Matter (TSM), including the organic and inorganic fractions; the absorption coefficients of the particulate and dissolved components of the water column and the phytoplankton pigment concentration and composition. The data can be used for Ocean Colour sensor validation.

  • This record contains data generated from samples collected in Moreton Bay between 27 July and 02 August 2004. The data can be used for Ocean Colour sensor validation. Parameters measured are the concentration of chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments and retrieved chlorophyll a estimate, the absorption coefficient for dissolved (CDOM) particulate (a/p) and detrital or non-algal (a/d) components of the water column. 19 stations were sampled. The data was used primarily to validate ocean colour sensors MERIS, MODIS and SeaWIFs and the SST sensor AATSR. Samples were collected and analysed for pigments, total suspended solids (TSS) and absorption coefficient, dissolved and particulate. CLW deployed instruments RAMSES, AC-9, Hydroscat and Hydrorad.

  • This record contains data generated from samples collected from Jurien Bay to Cape Naturaliste, WA, between 31 July and 07 August 2010 on the RV Southern Surveyor voyage ss2010_v06. The data can be used for Ocean Colour sensor validation. Parameters measured are the concentration of chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments.
